Well, over a year after I bought all the fabric, I have finally finished piecing together my niece’s baby quilt top. I have the backing and the batting upstairs. It will be cut, probably tomorrow. My goal is to have Adrienne’s quilt done by my Baby Shower in Michigan, which is in two weeks. Today was a big step towards that goal. The last eight of the squares were pieced together; all seventeen pieces to each square. Then, I put the quilt top together.
I am not a quilter by trade. If I were to put a quilt up for sale, I would work much harder on the details. I believe that quilts between family members gain their charm and appeal because they were made by a family member, not because they were perfect.
