It’s finished! It’s done! It’s alive – well, no, not really, but I do kind of feel like a mad scientist. I stitched the last square of quilting on my sister’s quilt yesterday – tied it off and called my mother to celebrate. I called my sister too to catch her before work and let her know it would be coming with me this weekend. She’s happy, as far as I can tell.
So what does a years worth of work on a baby quilt look like? Well, something like this:

I really do like it. There are some imperfections; seams that don’t meet up mostly, but other than that, I think it’s beautiful. That, and it’s the first quilt I have ever actually quilted. My first four were all tied. Granted, I didn’t quilt a lot on here, it’s still quilted by me and that makes me happy. Now I get to start Baby J’s quilt. I will be appliqueing stars tonight. And possibly some letters, if I can get them printed and cut out today at work. Hooray! Quilting!
That is a beautiful quilt! I know how hard you worked on it, and I know it will be cherished for a long time!
Congrats on your complete first quilt! Those stars look wonderful! YOu should be proud!
